Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Newly appointed Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MendiktiSaintek), Stella Christie, has highlighted her focus on enhancing human resource development during President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. Christie, speaking after her inauguration at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, October 21, 2024, emphasized that her ministry’s priority will be advancing human capital and fostering innovation.
“Our ministry is dedicated to developing human resources and driving innovation,” Christie said. “Innovation is critical, particularly in supporting the government’s agenda. For example, downstreaming efforts cannot succeed without innovations in science and technology.”
Christie pointed out that scientific and technological breakthroughs are essential for achieving the government’s broader goals. “Downstreaming can only occur with innovation from science and technology. This is a crucial area we need to prioritize, and it will require collective support,” she added.
Calling for support from all sectors of society, Christie expressed her commitment to improving higher education and advancing technological progress. “We will map out what has been accomplished and work to improve existing systems while also driving new initiatives that can help develop the country through research,” she said.
