Jakarta – PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. or BNI continues to strengthen support for small and medium business actors to expand global market penetration.

One way is through the Korea Import Fair (KIF) 2023 which will connect domestic MSMEs and corporations with importers or buyers in South Korea.

KIF 2023 is organized by The Korea Importers Association (Koima) at CoeX Convention & Exhibition Center (CoEx), Gangnam-Gu, Seoul, on June 29-July 1, 2023. The event can be held thanks to the cooperation between the Seoul Trade Attaché (Atdag-Seoul) and the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center – Busan (ITPC), BNI Seoul Overseas Branch Office, and BNI Xpora.

BNI Retail Director Putrama Wahju Setiawan said that by participating in this event, MSMEs and corporations connected to BNI Xpora will meet South Korean buyers. The meeting has the opportunity to create business matching, which ultimately creates mutually beneficial cooperation between sellers and buyers from the global market.

“By participating in this exhibition, BNI Xpora and BNI-assisted MSMEs will be more widely recognized. This step is also BNI’s effort to support the potential to increase foreign exchange for the country through KIF 2023,” said Putrama.

KIF 2023 is the only event in South Korea that specializes in the Business to Business (B2B) segment. The exhibition is filled with around 1,200 small, medium and large businesses from around the world. At KIF 2023, Koima hopes to attract as many as 80,000 business people.

BNI itself has participated in this event for 2 consecutive years and has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Koima. During the event, a number of BNI-assisted MSMEs and corporations have made agreements with South Korean importers.

Putrama said that this year BNI plans to dispatch MSMEs that have done or are ready to export from several cities in Indonesia.

Putrama is proud to be able to facilitate meetings between importers from KOIMA members and BNI Xpora assisted exporters.

The company is committed to increasingly proactively facilitating trade transactions and financing facilities to Indonesia’s proud export MSMEs, through the BNI Overseas Branch Office (KCLN) network in Seoul, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, New York and representative office in Amsterdam.

“It is hoped that more and more BNI small and medium business actors can collaborate and connect with international importer associations, so as to encourage national exports,” he said.

Putrama also added that through BNI’s KCLN network, Xpora can also facilitate the financing needs of diaspora business actors. So that not only domestic MSME players will be helped by their businesses, but also business actors from the Diaspora, especially in countries where BNI has branch offices.

In line with what Putrama said, General Manager of BNI’s SME Banking Division, Muhammad Safri Hidayat, said BNI is also ready to support the financing of export-oriented MSMEs with attractive interest rates if MSMEs need financing to expand production capacity.
