Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — Indonesian authorities have dismantled an underground swinger sex party network operating in Jakarta and Bali, arresting a couple accused of orchestrating and profiting from the illicit activities. The network, which reportedly hosted 10 events over the past year, attracted thousands of members and international participants.
The Cyber Crime Directorate of the Jakarta Metro Police arrested a married couple, identified by IG (39) and KS (39), in Badung, Bali. The pair were apprehended for operating an illicit and highly unconventional business: organizing swinger sex parties that facilitated partner swapping.
According to police, the couple not only organized the events but also managed a website that facilitated the swinger community, generating financial profits through the platform.
Jakarta Police Cybercrime Directorate Chief Commissioner Roberto Pasaribu revealed the motive behind the couple’s swinger sex parties, which stemmed from a personal unconventional fantasy.
“One of the couple’s motivations stemmed from personal fantasies. They could not engage in typical adult relationships without others present,” Roberto explained during a press conference at the Jakarta Police headquarters on Friday, January 10, 2025, as reported by Kompas.
To fulfill this fantasy, the couple reportedly took it a step further by creating a community and a website domain. Initially created to fulfill their personal desires, the couple’s activities evolved into a business opportunity.
According to Roberto, the couple profited through ad revenue generated by their website. “This is when they started thinking about how to turn this into an economic venture,” Roberto added.
They gain profit by monetizing the platform using ad revenue. However, Police are still calculating the financial gains from the operation.
In secret, the couple also recorded the swinger parties. These videos were later distributed and sold online, further contributing to their illicit earnings.
Website with Thousands of Members
The couple operated their swinger sex party through a website specifically designed as a platform for organizing swinger parties. They registered the domain and developed the site to attract individuals with similar interests.
According to CNN Indonesia, the couple’s website served as a hub for the swinger community, and reportedly has over than 17,000 registered members. Participants used the platform to connect, arrange in-person meetings, and organize the sex parties.
“The process begins on the website’s forum, where participants agree to meet. They then arrange an offline gathering to finalize the date and location of the event,” Pasaribu explained.
The website enforced strict rules, prohibiting members from sharing phone numbers or social media accounts on public forums. Instead, participants communicated through private messages to maintain discretion.
Events in Bali and Jakarta
Roberto stated that the couple had been operating their scheme for approximately a year, organizing at least 10 swinger parties across Bali and Jakarta. Police revealed that the couple hosted eight events in Bali and two in Jakarta.
Bali was chosen for its status as a popular tourist destination, while Jakarta’s large metropolitan population provided a steady stream of participants. “These activities often occurred in tourist-heavy areas, particularly involving foreign nationals,” said Pasaribu.
Preliminary investigations revealed the involvement of foreign nationals as participants in the swinger sex party. “From the videos we have uncovered, there is evidence of foreign nationals participating,” Roberto explained. “We are currently utilizing facial recognition technology to identify their identities through facial data.”

Roberto also disclosed that the couple had planned another swinger sex party in Bali, intending to involve foreign nationals from several countries. However, the operation was foiled by the police.
“In the near future, there was already an active chat forum on the platform organizing a swinger party that included foreign nationals,” he added.
Legal Consequences
Currently, the couple, identified as IG (39) and KS (39), have been named as suspects and are now in police custody.
IG and KS now face multiple charges, including violations of Indonesia’s Information and Electronic Transactions Law (ITE) and the country’s strict anti-pornography law. The charges carry severe penalties, and authorities are also pursuing money laundering accusations.
