Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — The Indonesia women national football team (Timnas) triumphed in the 2024 AFF Women’s Championship final, defeating Cambodia 3-1 in Vientiane on Thursday December 5. The historic victory crowned Indonesia as the champion and marked Indonesia’s first title in the AFF Women’s Championship.
Indonesia’s Garuda squad took a 2-1 lead in the first half, thanks to goals from Reva Octaviani and Sydney Hopper. Meanwhile Cambodia’s goal was scored by Hok Saody which briefly equalized with a goal that brought the score to 1-1.
In the second half, Reva sealed the victory with her second goal of the match in the 58th minute, capitalizing on an assist from Rosdilah Siti Nurrohmah. This goal extended Indonesia’s lead over Cambodia to 3-1.
The scoreline remained until the final whistle, securing Indonesia’s place atop the podium as champions of the 2024 AFF Women’s Championship.
Making History
This victory is a history for Indonesia’s women’s team, as it is their first AFF Women’s Championship title. The win also earned the team a ticket to the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship.
Under the guidance of head coach Satoru Mochizuki, the team setting an exceptional record as an unbeaten team throughout the tournament. The team played four matches, securing three wins and one draw without a single loss.
The Garuda squad also delivered an impressive performance, scored seven goals and conceded only one, showcasing both offensive and defensive dominance.
In addition to securing the championship trophy, two players from the Indonesian women’s national team earned individual awards: Laita Roati Masykuroh and Reva Octaviani.

Laita Roati Masykuroh was named Best Goalkeeper after conceding just one goal throughout the tournament. The Banyuwangi-born keeper played a pivotal role in Indonesia’s defensive success.
Reva Octaviani, who scored three goals in the competition—including two in the final—was awarded Player of the Tournament. At just 21 years old, her exceptional skill and contributions were critical to Indonesia’s championship run.
Although Reva’s three goals matched tied with Cambodia’s Poeurn Kunthea, she did not receive the top scorer award, which was instead solely to given to Kunthea.
Indonesia women national football team exceptional performance in the 2024 AFF Women’s Championship has not only brought home the trophy but has also set the stage for a promising future for women’s football in the country.
