Bandung, IndonesiaSentinel.com — Attending live music concerts has surged in popularity among Generation Z in Indonesia, evolving from a leisure activity into what some now jokingly refer to as a “necessity.” A viral expression has taken root on social media saying “Kebutuhan Manusia termasuk Primer, Sekunder, Tersier, dan Konser (Human needs include primary, secondary, tertiary… and concert).” Highlighting that for many young Indonesians, going to concerts has become an important part to their lifestyle.

In the last year, Indonesia has witnessed a significant boom in concert events, with some of the world’s biggest artists performing for sold-out crowds. For Generation Z, these events represent more than just entertainment. They are a cultural experience, a way to connect with peers, and an opportunity to share moments on social media as an essential element of their online presence.
