Prabowo Calls 59 Candidates for Deputy Ministers and Agency Heads

Jakarta, Indonesia Sentinel — President-elect Prabowo Subianto has summoned 59 prominent figures as candidates for deputy ministers and agency heads to his residence.

On Monday, October 14, 2024, several ministerial candidates were called in by Prabowo. Following that, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, candidates for deputy minister and agency head positions were summoned. Two potential ministerial candidates were also reportedly called during this round.

Previously, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, stated that the composition of Prabowo-Gibran’s 2024-2029 cabinet will largely consist of professionals.

Among those called for deputy minister and agency head roles are professionals, celebrities, and athletes, such as Raffi Ahmad, Yovie Widianto, and former badminton champion Taufik Hidayat.

Additionally, some volunteers were observed to have been invited by Prabowo. The previous day, around 49 names were summoned as ministerial candidates.
