Jakarta. Indonesia invites the UK to invest in more cities, including the Capital City of Nusantara (IKN). The invitation was conveyed by Indonesian President Ir. H. Joko Widodo in a bilateral meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, in Hiroshima, Japan, Saturday (20/5/23).
The President appreciated the realization of solar energy projects in Sumba and Hydro energy in Lombok, Bali, and West Sumatra. In addition, there is also a British grant of approximately USD 11 million for sustainable transportation in several Indonesian cities.

The President also hopes that there will be a realization of the UK’s commitment in the Just Energy Transition Partnership, the development of the EV ecosystem. Including the supply of battery cells and the construction of EV micro factories, as well as investment in the development of IKN, transportation, green energy, and education.
Regarding trade cooperation between the two countries, the President emphasized that discriminatory policies must be avoided.
