Kuningan, IndonesiaSentinel – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Baparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno encouraged Kuningan Regency, West Java, to develop its tourism and creative economy products through the concept of community-based tourism.

Menparekraf Sandiaga, after reviewing the J&J Kuningan, Tuesday (28/2/2023) said Kuningan Regency has a variety of tourist attractions. Starting from historical tourism with the Linggarjati Agreement, natural tourism with Mount Ciremai National Park, and others.

If the development of tourism potential involves local human resources, the economy in the area will also increase and be more prosperous. Moreover, the development of community-based tourism is in line with sustainable tourism.

“The President’s target this year is 1.4 billion domestic tourist movements. This can be realized if we all collaborate. We also need tourist attractions that are packaged with a community-based tourism approach so that the economic impact is felt evenly,” said Menparekraf Sandiaga.

For example, the community-based J&J Educational and Aerospace Tourism Object visited by the Menparekraf is able to attract as many as two thousand visitors a week. And able to open more jobs.

At J&J there is a Fokker 100 aircraft produced in 1986 in the Netherlands. This aircraft is presented at J&J as a means of education for prospective pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims as well as for children. In addition, there is also a BO 105 helicopter, a minizoo with a variety of animals such as fish, reptiles, and various types of birds.

Menparekraf Sandiaga said the potential of the creative economy in Kuningan is also very large. It can be seen from a number of products such as processed sweet potato products and sweet potato flour which have been successfully exported to Malaysia, Hongkok, and Japan.

“Let us collaborate to ensure the revival of our economy and the welfare of the people, especially in Kuningan Regency,” said the Menparekraf.

Social Media Marketing Training

Menparekraf Sandiaga had the opportunity to be a speaker at the “Social Media Marketing and Smartphone Videography Training” at De Jehan’s Hotel, Kuningan, West Java, Tuesday (28/2/2023).

In this training, Menparekraf Sandiaga conveyed three efforts for the younger generation in creating creative content with strong branding. Namely, it must be original without any engineering, relevant to current issues, and talkable.

“Any content that we create must become a byword in the community,” he said.

Also accompanying the Menparekraf were Special Staff of the Menparekraf for Tourism Destination Security and Strategic Issues, Brigadier General Ario Prawiseso; and Kuningan Regent Acep Purnama.
