Jakarta, IndonesiaSentinel.com — Sinar Mas has teamed up with South Korea’s Korea Investment Real Asset Management to develop a major data center project in Indonesia, valued at 400 billion won (approximately $4.6 billion).
The joint venture, named Kuningan Mas Gemilang, will see an initial investment of 70 billion won (about $810 million) from the two companies. Korea Investment Real Asset Management plans to secure additional funds from international investors. The partners aim to raise a total of 260 billion won (around $3 billion) by the third quarter of 2025.
The data center will be located in Menteng Atas, Setiabudi, Jakarta, covering an area of 8,516 square meters. The facility will be a substantial 11-story building with a total floor area of 44,195 square meters.

The site has been acquired, and construction is set to begin with a goal of completion by 2027. The center is designed to support a capacity of 18 megawatts. Both companies are currently seeking approval from local authorities.
Additionally, Korea Investment is in discussions with Sinar Mas about developing and operating a further data center in Indonesia. This follows Sinar Mas’s previous collaboration with LG CNS to manage a data center for corporate clients and provide cloud storage services.
