Jakarta, ‌IndonesiaSentinel.com — Tears and cheers filled the air as worshippers bid farewell to Pope Francis outside the Vatican Embassy in Jakarta on the morning of Friday, September 6, 2024. The global leader of the Catholic Church is set to continue his apostolic journey to Papua New Guinea.

Pope Francis departed the Vatican Embassy at around 9:10 AM local time, greeted by a crowd that had been waiting since dawn. Emotional cries and calls for Pope Francis echoed as the pontiff approached.

Traveling in a Toyota Innova Zenix with license plate SCV 1, Pope Francis took the time to greet and bless the faithful, particularly the children who had gathered early to see him.
