Labuan Bajo – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will lead five series of meetings at the peak of the 42nd ASEAN Summit 2023, Wednesday (10/5/2023). The meeting will take place at Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province.
“The summit starts today with five meetings that will be chaired by Mr. President,” said Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Teuku Faizasyah on Wednesday (10/5/2023) in Labuan Bajo.
The meetings led by the Head of State include the opening and plenary session of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, ASEAN Leaders Interface Meeting with Representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), ASEAN Leaders Interface Meeting with Representatives of ASEAN Youth, ASEAN Leaders Interface Meeting with Representatives of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), and ASEAN Leaders Interface Meeting with the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community’s Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV).
The five series of ASEAN Summit meetings will be closed directly by President Joko Widodo in the evening. Coinciding with the Welcoming Dinner activities at Ayana Komodo Waecicu Beach.
“The entire summit tomorrow (Wednesday, May 10, ed) will be closed, God willing, with a dinner event,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi during a Press Briefing on Tuesday (9/5/2023).
Then, the next day on Thursday (11/5/2023), President Jokowi will chair the Retreat Session and the Indonesia-Malaysia- Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Summit.
Meanwhile, the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) meeting will be chaired by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim because the chairmanship of BIMP-EAGA is currently held by Malaysia.
