Bandung, IndonesiaSentinel.com — The joint Search and Rescue Team (SAR) from Basarnas has finally managed to find the last remaining victim of the flash flood in Ternate. The 19th body, named Minarti Musa, who was a victim when a flash flood hit the Rua Village area, Ternate City, North Maluku (Malut), was found during the search on the eighth day.
Head of Basarnas Ternate Fathurahman, reported by ANTARA, Sunday, September 1, 2024, confirmed the information that the victim suspected to be named Minanti Musa (39 years old) was found at around 18.00 WIT near the coast of the local village.
According to Fathurahman, when the flash flood hit, the victim was suspected to have been dragged by mud during the tragic tragedy in the early hours of August 24, 2024, to the coast.
The last victim was found by the Joint SAR Team on Sunday (1/9) at around 18.00 WIT this afternoon, after eight days of searching.

This information was also confirmed by the Ternate Police Chief, AKBP Niko Irawan, through the Head of Public Relations, AKP Umar Kombong. “It is true, the victim has been found, and according to information from the Ternate Island Police, all the flash flood victims have been found,”
Previously, the Ternate City Government has extended the search for the remaining missing victim of the flash flood in Ternate, North Maluku. The decision was made in response to a request from the victim’s family as one resident was still missing.
Therefore, with the discovery of this last victim, the 8-day challenging search for the flash flood victim in Rua Village, Ternate City, has been paid off.
The flash flood, which struck Rua Village has taken a total of 19 victims and caused severe damage to dozens of homes with at least 253 people were affected by the flash flood that happened on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
